Willie crossed over the River Jordan into the loving arms of his Jesus Wednesday, April 10,2013. Willie Harold Fischer was born October 5, 1925 in Sparks, Nebraska to Carl Fischer and Dena Karcher. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII in the European Theater. He was wounded in action in 1945 and awarded the Purple Heart.
After being discharged he traveled with friend Dale Bartley on their way to Alaska and instead stayed in southern Oregon. He was employed with Boise Cascade. He enjoyed hunting, golfing and in his later years the stock market and politics.
He is survived by wife Carol, son, Morgan, daughter, Julie, three grandsons, his pride and joy Philip, Derek and Jordan, granddaughter Kayla, great granddaughter Giada. Sisters Lillian (Woolery), Carren (Foster), Arlene (Kercher), Barb (Powers), nephews JR (Fischer), and Alburn (Fischer), nieces Leota (Strong) and
Sherri (Smith).
A private family good-bye will be held at the Eagle Point National Cemetery.
