Viola Cureton, 77, of Medford, Oregon passed away on March 23, 2024, in Medford, Oregon
She was born in Medford at the original Rogue Valley Hospital.
Viola was known by all who she was close to as "Vi".
Vi and her husband Willard would have been married 56 years this month.
She was known for being dedicated to her career and the well-being of those within her care; working many holidays at the hospital to allow others to spend the holiday's with their families.
Vi worked at Hearthstone in Medford at the beginning of her career; and then spent the remainder of her 45+ year career as an LPN at Providence Medical Center.
She attended Eagle Point Elementary School as a child and then graduated from Eagle Point High School, where she maintained many deep friendships, lasting up to her last days on this earth.
After graduation, she travelled to Pennsylvania to attend the Sisters of Providence Nursing School, where she received her LPN degree.
Caring for people was her life's passion, as she truly believed that she had a benevolent call to save lives.
Vi enjoyed travelling, quilting, sewing, puzzles, games, and baking in her free time.
She attended Eagle Point Baptist Church as a child, participating in the choir; and worshipped at Harvest Time Fellowship with her husband as an adult.
Vi is survived by her husband, Willard. Step-Daughters Lori and Loni. Sisters, Aleta and Gloria. Nieces, Geneva and Erika. Nephew, Lloyd. Grand nieces, Megan and Melissa. Great nephews, Aldon and Ryker. Great niece, Beatrice.
She was preceded in death by her father, Virgil Miller and mother, Margaret Miller.
She will be buried with her beloved Westie Dog, Barney AKA "Barn Man".
Graveside services will be held on April 12th at 10 AM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2201 N Phoenix Rd, Medford, Oregon <
