Verna Marie Bowman

Verna Marie Bowman, 70, of Central Point, OR passed away on April 18, 2011 at home with her family. She was born February 15, 1941 in Whittier, CA to George Harrison Robbins and Edna (Denney) Robbins.
Verna married Raymond Baker in 1956 and they had two children, Kathi Marie and Thomas Wayne Baker. In 1967 she married again to Richard Bowman and had her last two children, Paul Richard and Deidra Dian Bowman.
Verna worked hard throughout her life and was fortunate enough to retire from the most rewarding job she ever had as a Case Manager for Adult & Family Services for the state of Oregon. Whether at work or home, her door was always open to anyone who needed her help. She loved bowling, painting, fishing and shooting pool and she was very good at everything she put her heart into. Gardening became her favorite pastime after retiring.
Verna is survived by her children: Kathi Orr (Jerry), Paul Bowman and Deidra Bowman. Her sister, Mary Ellen Womack (Jim), niece, Shannon Myer (Don) and nephew, Danny Keys. Four grandchildren: Michaela Johnson, Joshua Baker, Jessica Baker and Bryan Bowman. Three great-grandchildren: Cynthia Johnson, Jaden Orr and Vanessa Baker and one great-great-grandson: Jackson Thomas Owens. She was preceded in death by both parents, her brother - David Robbins, her son - Tommy Baker and her grand-daughter -Tanya Baker.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. The family would like to thank Providence Hospice for all the care and support they provided in our time of need.
