Stephanie Lynn Warren, age 65 years, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 1, 2022 at her home. She was born June 3, 1956 in the Navy hospital in Annapolis, MD to parents Richard Zachery and Dorris Frances(Glynn) Hughes. She grew up as many young girls, attending Catholic schools. Stephanie was a candy striper, was on the high school drill team, amateur radio operator, Princess of the Irish Cottage House of Foreign Relations and member of Tau Omicron Phi. She graduated from Coronado High School and attended the Catholic based University of San Diego(then San Diego State). She graduated Magna Cum Laude from southern Oregon University in 1979 with a Bachelors of Science degree in elementary education.
Stephanie married Lt. Jerry Lee Warren, USN, in a military wedding ceremony Feb. 19, 1977. She had two lovely children and four grandchildren. She cared deeply for her family and neighbors, not out of obligation but because that's who she was. Stephanie was a member of the PEO and Junior Service League as well as several other charitable organizations working with disadvantaged people. She was a world traveler and taught at St. Lutheran school. She had a full and wonderful life especially as a mother. Stephanie and her family have been long time members of Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church.
She felt that kindness and compassion to others were the most important things in life and kindness is medicine for the soul. She touched the lives of so many people in the area. Stephanie showed that true happiness comes from giving of oneself, it is a state of being.Kindness and compassion are the emotional ingredients that sustain long term relationships.
Stephanie passed away after a long and difficult battle with cancer. Her joy for life and indomitable spirit kept her pushing through the pain. She is survived by her husband Jerry Warren and their two children Sean Warren and Kathleen Warren. Funeral Mass will be held at 12:00 PM Friday, April 22, 2022 at the Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church. She will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford, OR after the church ceremony.
