Shirley Mae Young

Shirley Mae Nethery Young, age 76 years, passed Monday, Nov. 29, 2021. She was born Jan. 22, 1945 in Rock Springs, WY to parents John & Dortha Mae(Carpenter) Hofeldt. Shirley graduated High School in Carlin, NV in 1963. In 2003 she married Kenneth E. Young who survives. She had worked for the US Postal service for many years and retired from the Medford branch as processing clerk. Shirley enjoyed the Arts of Threads(sewing, quilting, crocheting) and oil painting. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Reams chapter #66 and the American Sewing Guild. Survivors in additions to Ken include three children; son Russell(Joey) Nethery, daughters Jayme (Charles) Worley and Shirlene (Raymond) Greene, Sisters Elizabeth Jayne Helle(Rich) Scott, Lynda Kay Hofeldt, Connie M. (Ron) Parratt, brother Johnny(Becky) Hofeldt and one grandson Trey Anderson. She was preceded by her parents and a sister Jennette Hofeldt Phillips. Funeral services were held on Monday, Dec. 6th, 2021 at the Hillcrest Memorial Chapel and were conducted by the Rev. Phyllis Hart of the First Presbyterian Church of Central Point and the Order of the Eastern Star Reams chapter #66. She was laid to rest Hillcrest Memorial Park, Medford, OR.
