Roger Armstrong

Roger M. Armstrong Roger Maurice Armstrong, 93, of Eagle Point, OR. passed Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at his home. He was born May 24, 1917 in Woonsocket, RI. to Adam & Eva(Dumas)Armstrong. In 1942 in Boston, MA. he married Idamae Elizabeth Bormet who preceded in death in 2007. Roger & Idamae retired and came to the Rogue Valley from Pomona, CA. While in CA. he was a welder/fabricator for the Ironworkers Union. He continued to weld and fabricate as a hobby until just recently when his health forced him to slow down. In addition to welding and metal work Roger enjoyed woodworking, fishing and travel. Roger served honorably in the US Army during WWII and was a member of the American Legion. Survivors include three daughters; Peggy M. Kern of Grants Pass, OR., Betty E. Armstrong of Eagle Point, OR., Carolyn A. Wilson of CA., two sons; Roger M. Armstrong of Hesperia, CA., and Ted L. Armstrong of Meadview, AZ., 13 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren and a very close friend of over 40 years, Margie Mead of Eagle Point. OR., also long time friends & neighbor, Leo & Shirley Rademacher, of Eagle Point, OR. He was preceded by his wife Idamae and a son James. Graveside services will be held at 2:00PM Friday, August 20, 2010 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2201 N. Phoenix Rd., Medford, OR. Memorial contributions are suggested to the NRA.
