Rodney D. Biggs
Rodney Biggs, 80, after a courageous three year battle with cancer, went to be with his Heavenly Father, at home with his family at his side on Thursday, June 25, 2015.
In September of 1973 Rod married his best friend and soul mate, Dorothy, and they spent 41 years happily married until his going home. They have two boys; son Gerald (Rebecca) Biggs, granddaughters Kaitlyn and Kelsy and son Donald (Sara) Biggs, grandsons Gideon and Jonas. Previously Rod was blessed with four boys, Jeff, Scott, Chris and Darin.
At the age of eighteen, Rod went to work for Greyhound Lines in Seattle Washington, and was quickly promoted to be the youngest Terminal Manager in the U.S. in Everett,
Washington, then became Superintendant of Drivers and Terminals in Oregon and Northern California. In 1967 he became the Commission Agent at the Medford Terminal where he remained until his retirement in 1995.
The last twenty years were spent traveling and playing Senior Softball, primarily with The Oregon Roadrunners from their inception. Rod was a great shortstop and loved his position, but would play wherever needed just to be with his ball buddies. He also loved playing ball with Jerry and Donny.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Michael, parents Donald and Dorothy, numerous Aunts and Uncles and his very special Father in Law, Roy Courtney.
There will be a Family Celebration later in July.
Memorial Contributions may be made to First Church of the Nazarene, 1974 McAndrews, Medford, Oregon, Gamerosity at

(Supports Children with Cancer with games and supplies for the little heroes) or the American Cancer Society. He will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
