Bob Hathaway, 66, passed away peacefully at his home October 17, 2014 due to colon cancer. He was born March 25, 1948 to Mildred and Robert Hathaway in Oakland, Calif., and grew up in Huntington Beach, mostly in the water. He was an avid surfer and was known as Fish for his love of the ocean. As an adult, he lived on a sailboat on Dana Point Harbor until an accident caused him to become a paraplegic. Bob married Kathy in 2001, at age 52 and they moved to Medford, Ore. to be near family.
Bob is now in heaven celebrating his new body with his mother, father, stepfather Marsh, and brother, Craig. He leaves behind his wife, Kathy; stepdaughter, Lacey Faith; brother, Howard; and sister-in-law, Wendy; along with nieces and nephews. Bob was a man of strong character, steadfast and courageous, and he left us a legacy of his determined spirit. He was a wonderful man who will be greatly missed.
We'll be celebrating his life Saturday, October 25, 11:00 a.m., at Hillcrest Memorial chapel.
