Richard Devar Pflugrad

Richard DeVar Pflugrad, age 83 years, passed away peacefully Monday morning, April 10, 2017. He was born March 27, 1934 in Milton, OR(now Milton-Freewater) to Arnold & Dorothy (Ewing) Pflugrad. He attended Walla Walla college where he met his wife, Harriet Janet Sabo, and were married June 17, 1956. Richard graduated from WWC in 1957 and taught elementary for over 30 years. His hobbies included Ham Radio, camping, ocean fishing and traveling the western U.S. He and Harriet were fortunate to enjoy two Caribbean and Alaska cruises. He thoroughly enjoyed his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Richard is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Harriet, daughters; Pamela Blackburn of Beaverton, OR, Cynthia Lowe of Hamilton, MT, and Kathryn Pflugrad of Medford., five grandchildren and four great grandchildren, a brother Arnold Pflugrad of Portland, OR. Memorial services were held Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Hillcrest Memorial Chapel, 2201 N. Phoenix Rd, Medford, OR. He will be laid to rest in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
