Raymond John Nouguier, 76, died September 2, 2019 at Rogue Regional Medical Center.

A funeral mass will be held at 12 PM on Friday, September 13th at Shepherd of the Valley Catholic Church, 600 Beebe Rd., Central Point, OR. The service will be officiated by Father Fredy Bonilla Moreno.

Mr. Nouguier was born in La Grande, Oregon on August 14, 1943 to Eli and Hilda Nouguier. The family moved to Medford in 1947, where he was raised with his two sisters, Jeanette Sieg and Marlene Weiler. The siblings graduated from St. Mary’s High School. After high school, Ray attended College of the Siskiyous, in Weed, California, and joined the US National Guard.

Mr. Nouguier worked in the grocery industry. He joined Sherm’s Thunderbird in May of 1976. In 1977, he became the Produce Manager for the store, which eventually became Sherm’s Food 4 Less. Ray stayed in that position until his retirement at the age of 72. After Ray retired, he volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul, serving in the kitchen and collecting food for the dining room and food pantry.

He married his wife of 43 years, Kathryn Ann Nouguier, on August 20, 1966. They remained married until her death on October 23, 2009. Together they had two sons, John Nouguier of Portland and Mark Nouguier of Medford. He was a constant in both of their lives until the time of his death.

Ray is survived by his son, John, and his wife, Beth, and their daughters Madison and Quinn; his son, Mark, and his wife, Kelly, and their daughters Katelin and Audrey; his sisters, Janette and Marlene. He is preceded in death by his wife, father and mother.
