Oscar B. Carlson
Oscar B.Carlson, 89, of Central Point, Ore., passed away Monday, Feb. 16, 2009, at his home. Cremation arrangements were completed by Hillcrest Mortuary. His urn will be placed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Medford, OR.
Oscar was born Nov. 7, 1919, in San Francisco, Calif., to Carl and Agnes Carlson. On May 25, 1945 he married Faye L. Carlson, in Oakland, Calif. They have been in the Medford area for 18 years, moving here from Fremont, Calif. He served in the U.S. Army in WWII. During that time he learned about aircraft instruments and their operation. Oscar had been with Wells Fargo Bank prior to the Army and returned to banking for a time after the service. He eventually got back into the aircraft instrument business for the remainder of his career.
He enjoyed fishing, hunting and camping. He was a member of the NRA.
Survivors in addition to Faye, include two sons, Kenneth Lyle Carlson and wife Janice, of Antioch, Calif., and Clifford Carlson and wife Loretta, of Mounds, Okla.; seven grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
