Naomi Maxine Roby
Naomi Maxine Roby went to be with Jesus Thursday morning, May 20, 2010. She was born June 29, 1930, in Iowa.
Naomi married James Ernest Roby on April 14, 1948, in El Dorado, Mo., and recently celebrated their 62nd anniversary. To all who know them, they were incredible "love birds," a cute couple. Before they were married, Naomi confessed to Jim that she was told she would not be able to bare any children. Jim told her that he loved her and if God wanted them to have children, they would, and if not, that would be just fine. God blessed them with children. They had their first child, Gary, in May of 1950. Their second child, a daughter, Ellen, was born in in May 1952, and Robin was born to them in 1954.
They moved from Mo. to Calif., in 1949. Over the years, they have lived in Petamula, Richmond, and Pleasant Hill, Calif., and moved to Medford, Ore., in 1997.
Jim Roby has enjoyed management of Bingo at the Medford Senior Center for the past 12 years and plans to continue his work there.
Naomi is survived be her husband of 62 years, James Ernest Roby; two children, Gary and Ellen; eight grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren.
