Muriel Stappler, beloved wife, mother, sister and grandma, passed peacefully into the hands of the Lord during the evening of Wednesday, October 27, 2010. Muriel was born in Louisiana and moved to Southern California, where she met and married her wonderful husband of 47 years, Harvey Stappler. They started their family and moved to the Rogue Valley in 1972.
Muriel finished her work history at the White City library as a library assistant. She always inspired her children to pursue their dreams. She loved her job and the interaction with all the people. She is best remembered as the lady who walked around with ear buds in her ears and a tune belt around her waste listening to books on tape. To say she will be missed is a huge understatement.
Muriel is survived by her husband, Harvey Stappler; daughters, Dawn Newton and Kimberly Ritchie; son, Michael Stappler; a precious sister, Rita Jenkins; eight brothers, Allen, Calvin, Donald, Tom, Robert, Wayne, Dennis and Arlen Barringer; and five grandchildren.
There will be an end of life celebration at Hillcrest Mortuary on Sunday, October 31, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. Feel free to join her family as they celebrate Muriel's life. Bring your favorite Muriel stories or celebrate her life in your own way. See you there. Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, Medford, OR. 541-773-6162 are in care of arrangements.
