Meryl Asay, age 91, of Central Point, Oregon passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012. She was born November 18, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frederick Walk and Clara Baer. Meryl married the love of her life Vern Asay on January 1, 1941 in Farmington Utah. They had five children. She enjoyed sewing, netting, knitting, quilting, baking, reading, and motorcycle riding. Meryl was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints, she was always active in her church callings and activities all her life. Meryl is survived by her husband Vern Asay of 72 years and their five children; Darline (Howard) Baldwin, Charline Rich, LaVerne (Kent) Wiseman, Fred (JoMarie) Asay, Donald (Lois) Asay, 25 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents; Fred Walk and Clara Baer, brother Fred Walk Jr., sisters, Virginia Gee and Marion Berkley. Services were held Friday, September 14, 2012, 11:00 am at the Central Point Stake Center, in Central Point, Oregon. Interment was in Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2201 N. Phoenix Rd., Medford, Oregon.
