Mary Louise Quackenbush (Church)

Mary Louise (Billie) Quackenbush, 87, passed away July 29, 2016. She was born July 2, 1929 in Roseburg, Ore. to Frank and Annabelle Church. She spent her childhood in Camas Valley and moved to the Rogue Valley when she was sixteen. She graduated from Ashland High School in 1947. She married Ronald Quackenbush August 7, 1948. They had two children, Charlyn and Lanny.
Billie worked for the Phoenix School District, working her way from high school secretary to school district clerk. When she retired, she enjoyed painting in various mediums until she could no longer do the detailed work. She then took up photography and enjoyed taking photos, particularly the flowers in their beautiful yard and sharing them with friends and family.
Billie had a strong faith and put her trust in God at an early age when two itinerant preachers came to Camas Valley with the gospel of Christ.
Billie is survived by her husband, Ronald; children, Charlyn (Larry) Friar and Lanny Quackenbush; grandchildren, Jason (Stacy) Quackenbush and their three children, Daehnara, Remington, and Drake; Jocelyn (Brandon) McConnell and their three children, Teixeira, Sierra, and Akiera; TJ Quackenbush; and Stephanie Quackenbush; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters, Doris Aikens, Frances Crow, and Gail Hollander.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016 at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary with a graveside to follow.
