Marjorie May Kerr, 87, peacefully passed away on Friday, January 21, 2011, with her family at her side. Marjorie was born on December 6, 1923, in Los Angeles, Calif., as an only child to George Franklin Summerville and May Agnes VanBuskirk.
At the young age of four, she learned and fell in love with knitting, and throughout her life she made numerous hats, sweaters, and blankets for her family. She was also a speed typist and participated in many competitions. She loved flowers, animals, traveling, and serving in many capacities in her church. Her life was one full of service. She loved everything about life and brought sunshine to all those she met. The love of her life was her loving husband of 60 years, Richard. They were a couple who were always together and most importantly, enjoyed being with each other. They were blessed with five children, Susan, Debra, Nancy, Raymond and William. They were also the proud grandparents of 24 grandchildren, and the greeat-grandparents of 16 great-grandchildren. A viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, February 5, 2011, prior to her funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Both events will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2141 Brookhurst St., Medford, Oregon.
