Lois Irene Cummings

Loving wife, mother and grandmother, Lois Irene Cummings, age 96, of Central Point, Oregon passed away on Thursday, Nov. 3, 2011 at her home. Lois was born May 29, 1915 in Murfreesboro, Arkansas to William Thomas and Samantha Mae(McClendon) Strawn. On April 1, 1931 in Murfreesboro she married Oliver Earvin Cummings who preceded her in 1995. She and Oliver came to the Rogue Valley from Murfreesboro in 1950. Lois worked seasonally at Associated Fruit Growers. She is survived by two sons; Robert(Nancy) Cummings and Ray(Arlene) Cummings of Central Point, OR., daughters; Vanita(Gary) Stevens of Medford, OR. and Betty Hudson of Central Point, OR., 11 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren and 11 great great grandchildren. In addition to Oliver she was preceded by brothers; Carl, Marvin, Warren, Charles and James and a sister Vera Strawn. Services will be held at 1:00PM Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011 at Hillcrest Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest beside Oliver.
