Leroy Raymond "Ray" Martindale

January 20, 1916 — July 19, 2011

In loving memory of Leroy Raymond Martindale known to all as "Ray", who passed away July 19, 2011 surrounded by his loved ones at home. Ray was born January 20, 1916 in Oakdale, NE to the late Golden Ray Martindale, Sr. and the late Pearl Etna Wheeler Martindale Drake Stewart. He moved to Oregon In Feb. 2003 from Fullerton, CA where he was a long time resident. Ray was a devoted Christian, dedicated to family and church. He enjoyed careers in engineering, radio, tv and in his later years as a Minister. Ray is survived by his six children: Lola Arlene Babcock of Bricelyn, MN; Erna Janet Hopkins of Medford, OR; Golden Ray Martindale (Judith) of Columbus, IN; Jessie Lea Jones (Lyle) of Prescott, AZ; Mary Louise Carroll (Robert) of Bricelyn, MN and John Allen Martindale (Christie) of Bishop, CA: fourteen grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren and one half-brother Richard Duane Stewart of Brea, CA. Ray was predeceased by his wife, Alice Louise Watts Martindale, in October 2003, his parents, six half-brothers and three half-sisters. In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Friends of Colina De Luz P.O.Box 2969, Chula Vista CA 91912; Rogue Valley Christian Church, Medford OR or the Cancer Society. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (July 26, 2011) at Rogue Valley Christian Church, Medford, OR. Pastor Russell Vaughn will officiate. Viewing will be one hour prior to the services.
