Leona "Ginger" Frazer, 76, a longtime resident of The Dalles, went to be with the Lord in Medford on Sunday August 5, 2012. Ginger was born July 25, 1936 in Eugene to Douglas and Marie Porter. Ginger grew up in the Springfield area and then moved to Dufur where she met her husband Bob Frazer whom she married in 1953; they had two children. Ginger and Bob moved to The Dalles in 1960 where Ginger quickly became a part of the community. She worked as a volunteer at the Chamber of Commerce, but her true love was bowling. She was inducted into The Dalles Bowling Hall of Fame, she was part of the Oregon Bowling Writers Association, and she wrote a bowling column for the local Chronicle. She also painted, wrote poetry, travelled extensively, and was an active member of First Christian Church where she sang in the church choir. Throughout the years Ginger and Bob also opened their hearts and home to multiple kids who needed help. Ginger is survived by husband Bob, children Kelley (Ed) Frakes of Medford and Don Frazer of Eagle Creek, grandchildren Jillian and Olivia Frakes and Jessica and Jared Drake, siblings Vince Hansen, Judy Haigler, David Porter, Douglas Porter, and Diana Holden, as well as multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews. There will be a celebration of Ginger's life at First Christian Church in The Dalles on Saturday August 18th at 11:00 am. Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, Medford, OR. are in care of arrangements.
