Larry Murphy

Larry Murphy was born October 26, 1945 in Medford, Oregon. He passed away with family by his side January 27, 2024 in Medford, Oregon. He went to Phoenix High School where he participated in football and FFA. After graduation, he moved to Bly, Oregon to work for Weyerhaeuser where he lived in the bunk house and made life long friends. He held numerous positions including truck driver and caboose engineer while maintaining his ranch in Beatty Oregon. In the '80s, he moved to Ashland, Oregon and started his 17 year career for the City of Ashland where he never missed a day of work. He was an avid fisherman and camper. He loved to take his girls boating and to the coast. He was an active member of Ashland Elk Lodge. After retiring in 2002, he worked full time on the family ranch in Phoenix and volunteering in the Phoenix FFA. He is survived by wife Pree Murphy; daughters Tessa Coolidge, Tammy Dewey, and Patti Anderson; 3 grandsons, 2 granddaughters, and 2 great-grandchildren.
