Kristi Marie Higday

December 16, 1969 — May 19, 2013

Kristi Marie Higday, 43, lost her fight with cancer and died at home in the arms of her loving family on May 19, 2013.
Kristi was born on December 16, 1969 in Manistique, Michigan to James and Joan Potvin. She spent the first 12 years of her life in Garden, Michigan. She enjoyed swimming at the lake, attending Big Bay de Noc School, tobogganing, ice skating, and ice fishing with her dad in the winter. But most of all, she liked the warmth of summer.
Kristi moved with her parents to Medford, Oregon in 1985 and graduated from North Medford High School in 1988. She married James Higday, her "knight in shining Armour," on August 1, 1992. She worked at Ashland Veterinary Hospital and then as a gymnastics coach, mentor and manager at America's Best Kids in Medford.
Kristi enjoyed the sunshine, running, working out, and reading. She loved her husband and her children, Meghan and Eric, attending as many of their sports events as she could. They often went to the coast and rode their ATV's in the sand dunes.
Kristi is survived by her husband, Jim Higday and her children, Meghan and Eric Higday, all of Medford. She is also survived by her parents, Jim and Joan Potvin of Medford, and her sisters, Kellyn Potvin of Westminster, CO and Kimberly Potvin of Dorchester, MA. Other survivors include her loving Mother-in-law, Katherine Higday, her sister-in-law, April Neill and her nephew, Nick Neill.
Kristi was a lovely daughter, a great sister, a devoted wife, and loving mother. She will be missed every day for the rest of our lives.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on May 29th, at Calvary Church- Assembly of God, 520 N. 5th St. Jacksonville, OR with Pastor Brian Steller officiating.
