Joan Edith Smith

Joan was born February 28th, 1950 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to George and Marguerite (Lasse) Brandt. She grew up with sisters Daisy (Zipperer), Georgia (Richards), and Helen (Hollowwa) and brother Joseph. She graduated from College of the Siskiyous in Weed, California. She worked as a cosmetologist. On November 9th, 1991, she married her husband Charles Smith in Reno, Nevada. Together they lived in Phoenix, Oregon. Joan was a master gardener. She enjoyed sewing and quilting. She was also a stray animal activist.

She is survived by her husband Charles, her daughters Jamey Osborn Colbert of Ashland, Oregon, Tracy J. Osborn of Medford, Oregon, Angel M. Polka of New Jersey, and Katie A. Wickham of Humble Texas, 7 grandchildren, and 4 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, her 4 siblings, and 1 grandchild.
