Joan Eales Blount

Joan Blount, formerly of Phoenix, Ore., lost her battle with cancer on October 20, 2011, at the age of 88. She was born December 13, 1922, in Hutchinson, Kan. Joan spent her last years surrounded by family and friends she cherished at Avamere Assisted Living Facility. She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, John A. Blount. Together, they owned and operated the family business, Blount's Homes, for 38 years in Phoenix, Ore. She is survived by her three sons, John C. (Tami) Blount, of Queen Creek, Ariz., Jim Blount, of Gilbert, Ariz., and Jason (Sarah) Blount, of Sherwood, Ore.; four grandchildren, Kim, Abbie, Ellie, and Ben; and three great-grandchildren.
There will be a graveside service at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary on Thursday, October 27, 2011. A viewing will also be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the same location. In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation to Avamere Assisted Living, Activity Fund would be appreciated. The address is 16500 S.W. Century Dr., Sherwood, OR 97140.
