James "Jimmy" Baxter
A memorial service will be held for James "Jimmy" Henry Baxter at 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Our Lady of the Mountain Catholic Church in Ashland with Fr. Sean M. Weeks officiating.
James Baxter, 79, of Port Angeles, died peacefully at the Rogue Valley Hospital in Medford on Sunday, January 27, 2008.
He was born December 31, 1928 to Harold and Sarah Baxter. He lived in the Rogue Valley for over 2 decades and married Dorothy Francipana in 1997. James was honorably discharged from the US Air Force as Staff Sergeant. He worked most of his life as a chemist in the Pulp and Paper Industry throughout the Pacific Northwest. Later in life, he was a real estate agent for Ashland Homes and a personal chauffeur for the President of Linneger True Mix.
James loved his BMW motorcycle and was a member of the BMW Owners club of America. He also avidly enjoyed movies, history and was a voracious reader of autobiographies. He is survived by his children William and Theresa, his brothers Joe, Ray, and Mike, and his grandchildren Ashlee and Damian. He was preceded in death by his sister Phyllis and son T. Mark "Max". Contributions may be made in James' name to Smile Train, a program sponsoring surgery for disadvantaged children with birth defects.
