Iva Jean Steinmetz (Cox)

Iva Jean Steinmetz, age 87, of Medford, OR. passed Sunday, March 31, 2013 at her home. She was born August 7, 1925 in La Union, NM., to John Erman Cox and Mary ??? She was married to Samuel Howard Miller for only a few months before he was killed in WWII. She later married Donald Houghman Steinmetz who preceded her in 1985. Iva came to the Rogue Valley 67 years ago from Mountain Home, ID. She worked seasonally for Pinnacle Packing Co. and Bear Creek Corp. She also worked in the cosmetics dept. of the Big Y shopping center. Iva Jean enjoyed gardening, flowers, baking, and sewing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include her daughter Karen Miller of Medford, OR., two sons Stephen Douglas Steinmetz of Grants Pass, OR., and Terry Allen Steinmetz of Nampa, ID., seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations are suggested to the Parkinson's Foundation.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, April 5, 2013 at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints, 3456 Bellinger Lane, Medford, OR. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
