Hugh L. Pickett passed away at home with family present on Friday, October 22, 2010. He was born in Columbus, Ohio, to Grace and Lavern Pickett, on May 6, 1920. He was married to Beverly Ackles for 70 years.
Hugh was a member of the U.S. Coast Guard, and saw combat in the Pacific aboard a Navy ship during World War II. He retired to Oregon from the Los Angeles City Fire Department.
Hugh was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Thomas and Betty Twiss; and daughter-in-law, Joan Pickett. He is survived by his wife, Beverly; sons, Hugh and John Pickett; daughter-in-law, Sandra Pickett; four grandchildren, David, Daniel, Sara and Peter; and four great-grandchildren, Randall, Trynity, Riley and Sophia.
