Henry Jacob Jennings, 85, of Medford, Ore., passed away Sunday, April 25, 2010. He was born Oct. 2, 1925, in Greybull, Wyo., to Lloyd L. and Anna C. Jennings. He lived in the Rogue Valley for most of his life, over 30 years.
He was married to Billie L. Jennings, who preceded him in death.
Henry served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. His rank was MoMM3c, and at the time of his discharge, he was stationed at NTS Farrgut, Idaho, on the USS LST 1030 and his service ended in PSC USNB, Bremerton, Wash.
Henry was a millworker for Hi-Ridge Lumber Company, in Medford, Ore., and also worked as a yard-keeper for the Medford Presbyterian Church for about five years. He was about 70 years old when he completely retired from working.
Henry enjoyed shuffleboard and watching sports on TV. He was a member of the Eagles and the VFW Medford local chapters.
He is survived by his sons, George Lewis and Henry Jacob Jr.; his daughters, Belinda May, Anna Lue, and Judith Marie; sister, Evelyn Sorenson of Jackson Hole, Wyo.; brother Leonard Jennings of Greybull, Wyo.; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren.
Graveside services with military honors will be 2:00PM Friday, April 30, 2010 at Eagle Point National Cemetery. Rev. Paul Schurman will be officiating.
