Emma Elizabeth (Dockery) Tompkins of Talent, Oregon, died at home on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at the age of 93. She was born January 1, 1921, at Hazel Valley Arkansas. She attended school through ninth grade at Sunset, Arkansas, and High School at University High in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
On April 8, 1942, Emma married John Tompkins in Clarkdale, Arizona. There were born four children of this marriage. Emma is survived by her three sons, James Allen Tompkins of Ashland, Ronald Lee Tompkins of Klamath Falls and Donald Ray Tompkins of Monteray, California and her daughter, Linda Sue (Tompkins) Raduski of Medford. Emma's husband, John passed away on April 23, 1995.
Emma worked for Warner Bulb Company of Jacksonville, for Byers Egg Ranch in Talent, and for Villa Royal of Medford. After retiring she worked seasonally for Associated Fruit Company of Phoenix.
Emma loved to walk and logged many miles on the bike paths. She liked to work crossword puzzles and read. She enjoyed being with family and friends and working in her yard. Emma was a member of the West Main Church of Christ in Medford.
Emma came from a family of eight siblings, five boys and three girls. Four brothers and one sister proceeded her in death. She had seven grandchildren including Todd Raduski and Gina Raduski, Tami McGonagle, Dana Giles, Stacey Youngblood, Eric Tompkins and Joe Tompkins. Emma was blessed with 10 great granchildren
