Ellis Barber Whitman, 80, of Medford, Ore., passed away Aug. 1, 2008, in Medford, Ore. He was born on Dec. 15, 1927 in Warren Ark., to Johnny and Gertrude Whitman. He is survived by his wife, Emma Dean Whitman, who he married in 1946 in Fountain Hill, Ark., his son Don Whitman, of Medford, Ore.; and his sisters Nadine Archer, of Central Point and Sue Pinckard, of Fordyce Ark.; as well as four grandchildren, Sharon, Quentin, Michael and Abby. He is preceded by his parents and one daughter, Sheila.
Ellis worked 31 years for Boise Cascade in Medford, Ore., was a member of the Cornerstone Christian Church and enjoyed old model cars, golfing, gardening and the New York Yankees.
Viewing Tues., Aug. 5, 2008 Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel from 3 to 7 pm, the funeral service will be Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2008, 2:30 pm at Hillcrest Memorial Park Chapel. Officiating Pastor will be Stan Way of Cornerstone Christian Church.
