Earl Myrtue, 83, of Phoenix, Oregon passed away peacefully on February 8, 2012 at Hearthstone Nursing Facility. He was born on January 3, 1929 in Sioux City, Iowa. He is survived by his devoted wife, Vivian, of 62 years, and a son, Earl D. Myrtue. He is the grandfather of three granddaughters, eight great grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren. Earl graduated from Berkeley High School in California and was a proud member of the Motion Picture Industry (MPI) working his last 18 years as a lab technician. He was exceptionally proud of his editing of the movie, "ET". He was a Past Worshipful Master of Medford Masonic Lodge #103, AF & AM, having received a 50 year pin and his Hiram Award. Earl was a KYCH of the York Rite Bodies, Past Royal Patron of the Amaranth with a 50 year pin, Past High Priest of the Royal Arch Masons, Past Illustrious Master of the Council and Past Commander of Commandry. He was Commander of the Knights of Malta, a member of Scottish Rite and the Hillah Shrine. Earl was passionate about cooking and loved cooking for the Masonic Lodge and others.
Services will be held at the Medford Masonic Lodge, 975 N. Phoenix Road in Medford on Saturday, February 18th at 2:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations will be gratefully accepted by Hillah Shrine for the Hospital Transportation Fund. Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary, Medford, Oregon are in care of arrangements.
