Doris Lee Mattey 83, passed away October 8, 2015 surrounded by her family. She was born on April 2, 1932 in Boscobel, Wis. to Edward Hiram Sanders and Minnie Lucinda Johnstone-Sanders. She has now gone to be with the Lord.
She later migrated to Spanaway, Wash. with her family and 16 siblings all of whom preceded her in death. She spent most of her life living in Jackson County Oregon.
She worked as a supervisor for Harry & David most of her career. Doris volunteered as a Foster Grandparent for over 20 years. She came to be known there as Granny D. She was proud to be presented the Oregon Spirit Award for her volunteering, among other awards.
Doris had six children, Virginia Murillo, Bob Breland, Gloria Valdez, Jane Richmond, Bill Neel, and Lisa Gray; daughter-in-Law Paula Breland; sons-in-law, Tony Murillo, Juan Valdez, JR Richmond, and Bret Gray. She had many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren whom she adored.
Please join the Family for a "Celebration of Life" at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 24, 2015 at Eagle Point Golf Course Pavilion (next to the restaurant), 100 Eagle Point Drive, Eagle Point, Ore. A gathering afterward will be at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Bob and Paula Breland in Eagle Point
