Donald Gren passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 in Medford, Ore. surrounded by family. He was born January 24, 1931 to Elmer and Clara Gren in Duluth, Minn. He was their only child. The family moved to many locations, including Hollywood, Calif, Yakima, Wash, and Elbow Lake, Minn. When he completed his high school education. They then moved to Nevis, Minn where Don met Jean Hoefs. They were married July 17, 1954. Don and Jean moved to Medford, Ore in early 1955. There they raised three children, Conrad, Esther and Judy. Don worked for 31.5 years at MEDCO as a plywood grader. He was an avid reader, and loved hiking and traveling. He served as a deacon, and was actively involved at the Valley View Seventh day Adventist Church, where he volunteered countless hours.
Donald is survived by his wife, Jean Gren of Medford, Ore; son Conrad Gren of Damascus, Ore; daughters, Esther Bryson of Walla Walla, Wash. and Judy Weber of McMinnville, Ore; grandsons, Eric Gren of Loma Linda, Calif. and Nathaniel Gren of Damascus, Ore; and granddaughters, Kari Lenz of Spokane, Wash. and Laura Taylor of Berrien Springs, MI; three step-grandchildren and 12 step great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Curtis Gren.
There will be a viewing from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Hillcrest Memorial Park & Mortuary. (

) A memorial service will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, December 22, 2013 at Valley View SDA Church, 3677 South Stage Road, Medford, Ore. Pastor Walter Mancia will officiate. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the "Donald Gren Memorial Fund" at Valley view SDA Church.
