Daniel Louis Padilla entered into eternal rest September 27, 2007. Born April 9, 1948, in San Diego, Calif., Dan began his higher education at the University of San Diego, majoring in Spanish with a minor in English. He continued his education at San Diego State and received his MS in counseling. Dan also completed his Juris Doctorate at California Western School of Law.
After completing his education, Dan began his diverse career in law enforcement as a park ranger. He was later employed as a police officer with San Diego Police Department, Shasta County Sheriff's Office, Siskiyou County Probation Department with a special assignment to the Siskiyou County Interagency Narcotics Task Force, and California State Alcoholic Beverage Control. Dan retired from the State of California Parole and Community Services Division.
Dan is survived by his wife, Lynn, of Lake Shastina; four children, Adriana, of Westminster, Calif., Daniel of Walnut Creek, Calif., Stewart Michelon, of Medford, and Cristi Michelon, of Santa Barbara, Calif.; his parents, Dan and Martie, of Rogue River; sisters, Vivian Platt, of Rogue River, Dolores Vriesman, of Los Angeles, Calif., and Lydia Taber, of Medford. Dan was also blessed with two grandchildren, three nieces, and one nephew.
Hunting, fishing, gardening and golf were just a few of Dan's joys. He also took great pleasure in restoring his 1955 Chevrolet.
The memorial services will be held on Friday, October 12, 2007, at 1:00 p.m., at the Mt. Shasta Memorial Chapel, in Mount Shasta, Calif. Chaplain Ray Horst, officiating.
