Clarissa Ann Mattix

Clarissa Ann Mattix, 92, of Ashland, Oregon passed Friday, May 6, 2011 at Skylark Assisted Living Center in Ashland. She was born Dec. 1, 1918 in Muscatine, Iowa to Ed & Bessie May(Hathaway) Gillette. Clarissa came to southern Oregon in 2003 from Victorville, CA. In her later years she enjoyed reading. She is survived by four children; son Thomas Waltman of Yucaipa, CA., daughter Janice Fraley of Homer, AK., daughter Kathy Rodgers of Hemet, CA., daughter Marilee Rodgers of Medford, OR., a sister Joyce Bruene of Gladbrook, Iowa, 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, two sons; William H. Waltman and Howard D. Waltman and a brother Roy E. Gillette. She will be laid to rest with her family in Muscatine, Iowa.
