Charlotte I. Scarlett
Charlotte, 91, of Talent Ore., passed away Friday, Jan. 1, 2010, at her home. She was born on Oct. 13, 1918, in San Diego, Calif. She remained there until she was three years old and then spent her early life in Wyo. She moved back to southern Calif., after Pearl Harbor and worked for Southern California Freight Lines until after World War II. She retired years later and she and her husband Clayton O. Scarlett moved to Atwater, Calif. in 1994, to be closer to family. In 2007, she moved to Ore., near her eldest daughter. In her spare time she enjoyed deep sea fishing, working in the yard, and traveling. She loved needlework and was a collector of hearts, animals and trinkets.
In a legacy of loving others, she is survived and will be deeply missed by her brother Richard Sinclair, her half-sister Betty Promeneski; her two daughters; Cherie (Cooley) Brooks of Talent Ore. and Deborah Scarlett of Galt, Calif.; six grandchildren; Michelle, Laura, Kimberly, Stacy, Kevin, Stephanie; eight great-grandchildren; Melissa, Brian, Jarrett, Landon, Hanna, Tara, Katelyn, Katrina; and three great-great-grandchildren; Makayla, Tristan and Brayden.
A celebration of life is scheduled for Saturday, January 9, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2201 North Phoenix Road, Medford, OR. Internment will be in Winton, Calif., next to her husband. Because of her love of animals, donations can be made in her name to: Animal Care and Control, 5595 South Pacific Hwy., Phoenix, OR, 97535 in lieu of flowers. Her legacy-she gave to others. Rest now - no more pain or sorrow you are home.
