We, the family, celebrate the memorable life of Carlos Govella from Houston, Texas (3/11/1956 - 8/18/2012), who was the beloved son of departed Mary Esther Gutierrez and Carlos Nunez. Carlos is survived by his loving wife, Karol Govella, his brother, Andrew Govella, his sister-in-law, Rhea and nephew, Andrew. He loved his country and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He was blessed to be loved by his children, Carlos Govella, Michelle Govella, Michel Archuleta, James Archuleta, Shannon Harr and David Archuleta and lived to behold one of his life's greatest gifts, his grandchildren: Alex Archuleta, Faylinn Cantrell, Devon Archuleta and Shawn Archuleta. Carlos loved working with his hands and spent many years as a wood worker; once retired, he moved to Medford, Oregon where he loved to fish, tinker with his truck and cars and restore furniture. Carlos had a great love for music, especially Jimi Hendrix and Carlos Santana. He learned to play the guitar due to his musical interests. Carlos was loved and will be remembered for his kindness, loyalty and optimism that he demonstrated each day of his life. Carlos will be remembered through all our love and we will treasure these remembrances always! And it now seems that whenever we hear "Stepping Stone", "Hear My Train a Comin", "Angel", "Oye Como Va", "Evil Ways" and "Black Magic Women", we will feel the music and have it touch our souls for a remembered, always-loved one! Offerings and donations for the family to help with funeral services and expenses are being taken at any Bank of America branch. Please put account number 485008826665 under Shannon Harr.
