BRADLEY J. BROYLES
April 29, 1922 -June 10,2009
Bradley J. Broyles passed away at the Rogue Valley Medical Center, Medford, OR., with his family at his side. He was born in Kansas. He graduated from the University of Denver in three years with a degree in accounting, and was on the dean's honor roll. He then went to the European Theater of war, landing in France shortly after D-Day, crossing Belgium into Germany,
for the remainder of WWII. When the war was over, he attended Shrivenham American University at Shrivenham, England, studying Commerce and Finance until his discharge from the service. He joined a large accounting firm in Chicago, IL, until he and his parents moved to Eugene, OR, starting Broyles Lumber Co., which expanded to Medford, OR, Redding, CA, and Grand Junction, CO. He was a member of the North American Wholesale Lumber Assoc., Century Club of the YMCA, Citizen of the Month of the Redding Trad~ Club, Vicegerent Snark (President) of the Shasta-Cascade Hoo-Hoo Club, an international fraternal organization of lumbermen, and Lumberman of the Year in 1972. Broyles Lumber Co. was closed in 1989, and he and his wife, Kathryn, became trustees of Broyles Family Trust. He is survived by his wife of sixty years, Kathryn, three sons, Alan of Medford, OR, Douglas of Philomath, OR, and Thomas of Torrance, CA. Arrangements are being made by Hillcrest Memorial Park, interment at Redding Memorial Park, Redding, CA. Memorial contributions may be made to the Rogue Valley Manor Foundation Health Center, or to a charity of choice. Private family service.
To Brad, My Dear Husband, You gave me your love for sixty years, as I gave you mine. You were my best friend, as I was yours. You gave me three sons, whom we cherished together. My heart is crushed with your death. I ask, Dear Heart, that you guide me until we are together again, forever. Kathryn
