Betty Frances Johnson

Betty Frances Johnson, age 79, of Medford, Oregon passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2011 at her home. Betty was born to Bryan and Fannie (McCaslin) Shipp on December 9, 1931 in Hailey, Idaho. On December 24, 1947, Betty married Duane Johnson. Betty and Duane came here from Idaho in 1965 where they ran Beef Boy Restaurant. Betty was an Assistant Cook in the Phoenix-Talent School Cafeterias. Betty and Duane together owned and operated Motor City Auto Sales in Medford from 1978-1998. She volunteered for SMART reading program in local elementary schools. She loved shopping, especially for shoes and enjoyed painting. Betty is survived by her children Pam (Steve) Schwietert of Grants Pass, OR, Greg (Cheryl) Johnson of Medford, OR and Gary Johnson of Klamath Falls, OR. Her greatest joy was being a loving Nana and Grammy to 8 Grandchildren and loving "GiGi" to 5 Great Grandchildren. She was preceded by her husband Duane in 2000. Graveside services will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at the Eagle Point National Cemetery, in Eagle Point, OR.
