Augustine E. Lopez
Augustine E. Lopez, of Shady Cove, Ore., passed away Monday, July 26, 2010, at Rogue Valley Hospital, after battling cirrhosis of the liver. He was born in Torrance, Calif., on October 20, 1946, to Antonio Lopez and Angelita Fernandez.
He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served for seven years in the United States Army. While serving, he earned the Bronze Star medal and received the Army Commendation medal. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing pool. He spent the last 17 years living in Shady Cove, Ore. He loved the people and the land.
Augustine is survived by wife, Esther; three daughters, Michelle, Andrea and Monica; son, Augustine, with first wife Angela Jensen; stepdaughters, Lori Ann and Teresa; stepson, Robert;15 sisters; 21 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.
The viewing will be held on July 29, 2010, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Memory Gardens Memorial Park & Mortuary, 1395 Arnold Lane, Medford, Ore., 97501. Funeral services will be held on July 30, 2010, at 11:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima, in Shady Cove, Ore., immediately followed by burial service at Eagle Point National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m.
