Arlenne (Dickey) Randles was born in Grants Pass, Oregon on February 4, 1928. She passed away on January 8, 2011. (Added to text) After living in several different locations when she was young, Arlenne and family moved to Medford where she attended schools. In May of 1958 she was employed by Newberry's where she worked for 30 years, retiring in March, 1988. Arlenne is remembered by many people connecting her with her employment duties in the Cafeteria at Newberry's Medford Shopping Center location. In March of 1995 she married Robert Randles. She lived in Medford until Bob's passing on October 13, 2010. Proceeding her in death, besides her parents, were her three brothers, Arley, Arlen, Aften Dickey and her husband Robert Randles. (This was written by Arlenne on February 12, 2006.) Robert E. Randles was born in Ashland, January27, 1922. Attended Ashland schools graduating from AHS 1n 1941. After completing one year at SOCE he became self employed in his family owned business in Talent between the years 1942 and 1945. In 1945 moving the business to Phoenix where he resided and worked until 1965 at which time the business was sold. Soon after selling the business he moved to Medford where he was employed by Fluhrer's Bakery and continued to work for Fluhrer and its successive owners until his retirement in 1974. In 1958 he married Winifred Powell who resided in Ashland at that time. Soon after their marriage they moved to Medford living there at the time of her death in May of 11, 1993. In March of 1995 he married Arlenne Dickey continuing to make their home in Medford. (This was written by Robert on February 12, 2006.) Robert and Arlenne lived at the intersection of Stewart Ave. and Columbus in Medford, their home, to many, became known as the "Holiday House." The family would like to thank all of those that sent cards, letters, candy, flowers, etc., to Robert and Arlenne expressing their enjoyment of the decorations for all the holidays. A very special thanks goes to David Randles, Robert Randal's nephew, for all that he has done for both of them not only before their passing but also afterwards. In November Arlenne moved to Brookings to be closer to her niece, Linda Cox and her husband Phil. There will be a Joint Celebration of Lives in memory of both Robert and Arlenne on Friday, February 4, 2011 at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park and Mortuary located at 2201 N Phoenix Rd., Medford, Oregon.
